Title: HAPPINESS & TRUST
Materials: Fibre cement panels, glass panels
Size: approximately 800 m2
A series of ink drawings on paper were scanned and computer manipulated and then the digital files for printing were produced. The files were printed on: 1- vinyl which was mounted on fibre cement panels and then coated; 2- translucent foil which was sandwiched between two sheets of glass. The glass and fibre cement panels, with graffiti/wallpaper pattern, form parts of external facades of the new Business and Law Department buildings, Edith Cowan University, Western Australia.
Two words: HAPPINESS and TRUST are focus elements of the artwork. These words are essential for modern economics. They are interwoven with shapes informed by selected fragments of texts on Australian economics, and the Australian Constitution. These ideas are overlapped with shapes outlining human presence. They draw on concepts of learning, fruitful intellectual coexistence, and leadership.
